Macspred and Syngenta - Meet the Team
Macspred has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and innovation in the vegetation management industry for over 30 years. This foundation of excellence aligns perfectly with Syngenta's position as a global leader in agricultural Research and Development with a history of bringing innovative solutions to the agricultural industry.
On May 2nd, 2023, Syngenta acquired Macspred with the ambition of aligning the strength of both businesses to bring new solutions to the Forestry, Industrial Vegetation and Aquatic Weeds markets.
By integrating Macspred into the Syngenta network, we are committed to:

3. Leveraging Syngenta's global research and development to bring new solutions to the industry.
Some key milestones since the acquisition have been fully integrating the customer-facing financial systems which went live in August 2024. Before refining the approach to branding, customer market research was undertaken to ensure we have a consistent face for our customers. We’ve also strengthened our capabilities with 4 new team members added to the Macspred team who are dedicated to supporting a smooth transition and elevating our customer service standards:
Michael Uttley, Macspred Business Manager.
The appointment is effective from November 1st 2024 in line with the announcement that Mark Frances will retire on December 2024.
With over 30 years of experience in the agricultural industry, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the role of Macspred Business Manager within the Forestry, Industrial and Aquatic Vegetation Management sectors. Michael joined Syngenta in 2014 as Product Lead – Broadacre Seedcare & Cereal Seeds and has held the position of Head of Seedcare, ANZ since 2019.

Joss (Jocelyn) Pohl, Territory Sales Manager (Victoria, SA, Southern NSW and Tasmania).
Joss joined Syngenta from the life sciences industry where she was a Business Development Manager providing technological solutions in disease research (human, animal and plant). In July 2024 she transitioned from the Professional Pest Management business, bringing a strong complement of business development, technical training and sales excellence experience to the Macspred team.
Joss (Jocelyn) Pohl, Territory Sales Manager (Victoria, SA, Southern NSW and Tasmania)
Greg Nash, Territory Sales Manager (Northern NSW, QLD, NT and Western Australia).
Greg joined the Macspred team in March 2024 with qualifications in Conservation and Land Management and brings extensive knowledge of Macspred products and land management within the WA, QLD, NT and northern NSW area. Greg has held contract supervisor roles with multiple companies who specialise in vegetation and land management.

Kate Amies, Customer Service Representative.
Originally from Canada, Kate attended Queen’s University where she studied Global Development. After her studies in 2015, she moved to Australia and in 2019 started with Syngenta in Customer Service and then Customer Operations. Kate joined the Macspred team in July 2024. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the beach, gardening and reading.

Looking ahead
Mark shared the following with his team recently:
I believe that the Macspred business is well placed, and our customers will benefit from the investment in funding and knowledge that Syngenta is delivering into Macspred manufacturing and staff. The Macspred team have all contributed to its success and will continue to deliver exceptional products and service to our customers under Syngenta ownership. Syngenta is an R&D company with a focus on bringing innovation to the market and this complements the Macspred business which has a strong reputation of quality and reliability.
